Die US-amerikanische Metalcoreband Motionless In White haben am Freitag nicht nur einen neuen Song veröffentlicht, sondern auch ein neues Album angekündigt. Ihre letzte Platte "Disguise" erschien 2019 und nachdem die Band während der Pandemie nur eine Neuauflage zum 10. Jubiläum des ersten Albums "Creatures" und zwei "Non-Album"-Tracks ("Somebody Told Me" und "Timebomb") veröffentlichte, wünschten sich die Fans seit langem neue Musik. Es war bekannt, dass die Band aus Scranton, Pennsylvania, bereits im vergangenen Jahr an neuem Material arbeite, aber niemand wusste, wann damit zu rechnen sein würde. Bis jetzt!
"Cyberhex" kündigt futuristisches und dystopisches Album an
"Cyberhex" heißt die neue Single, die in einer dystopische Welt einlädt und einen Einblick auf die neue Scheibe offenbart. Es wird robotisch, futuristisch und apocalyptisch. Motionless In White bewegen sich weg vom bekannten Halloween-Metal und tauchen in eine Zukunftsvision ab. Die Single überzeugt und auch das Video scheint den Fans zu gefallen. Gleichzeitg veröffentlichten sie mehr Infos zum neuen Album. Es wird "Scoring The End Of The World" heißen und am 10. Juni via Roadrunner Records erscheinen. Das Cover ziert eine brennende Welt in einer Schneekugel, die von einer Roboterhand gehalten wird. Außerhalb der Schneekugel sieht man weitere Zerstörung und Feuer. Man könnte dieses Cover interpretieren, als würde sich jeder nur um sein eigenes Leben (seine eigene Welt), was in Flammen steht kümmern, während das große Ganze ebenfalls auseinanderfällt. Es ist davon auszugehen, dass dies bereits eine Kritik zur heutigen Gesellschaft darstellt. Man darf gespannt sein, wie sich das Album klanglich entwickelt. Frontman Chris Motionless ist dafür bekannt, die Lyrics selbst zu schreiben und mit der Band die Melodie zu entwickeln.
Europatour auf 2023 verschobene
Nachdem die Europatournee mit Beartooth im Februar abgesagt und auf 2023 verschoben wurde, wird es die Fans freuen, dass in diesem Jahr noch mit neuer Musik zu rechnen ist. Über Cyberhex sagte Sänger Chris: "Cyberhex is my love letter to you, our fans, for everything you have done for me over the course of some of the most mentally taxing few years I've had to go through. At times where I felt like my world was ending, as well as the world around us, it was always in my mind that I was able to turn to the special relationship we have created together for help, and I cannot thank you enough for that. Outside of my own personal experiences, it has been equally as fulfilling to me to see that in the face of tireless forces that continue to try and perpetuate hatred and negativity towards so many of us coexisting on this planet, we have all stood together to resist and fight back knowing that love and compassion will always prevail. We ARE the resistance. We ARE Cyberhex. I love you. Thank you."
